Mo. Alcohol & Tobacco Control Compliance Checks in Wright County
Gene Lacy, State Supervisor for the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, announces that the Division conducted 13 alcohol compliance check investigations in Wright County on March 18, 2010.
The investigations resulted in charges against four individuals. Each was charged with sale of liquor to a minor. In addition, the retail locations were cited for sale of liquor to a minor and will face possible fines and/or suspension of their liquor licenses from the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.
Those facing charges are:
Lavone K. Liles – Country Express, 221 Maple Street, Mountain Grove, MO Kelly L. Ross – The Hub, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mountain Grove, MO Jolene S. Sawyer – Bootleggers Package Store, 1915 S. Hwy E., Norwood, MO Dovie Janae Davis – Fat Dog Liquor, 833 W. Commercial St., Mansfield, MO
Supervisor Lacy pointed out that the following nine retail locations did not sell to the undercover minor: Modern Day Veterans (Lucky 7 Tavern), 211 W. 1st Street, Mountain Grove, MO; The Patio, 400 W 3rd Street, Mountain Grove, MO; Caseys General Store # 1497, 806 N. Main Street, Mountain Grove, MO; Bill's Grocery & Package Store, 136 S. Main, Mountain Grove, MO; Caseys General Store #1146, 208 S. Main Street, Mountain Grove, MO; Lazy Lees One Stop, 1803 N. Main, Mountain Grove, MO; Signal Food Store, Hwy 5 & 60 Business, Mansfield, MO; Caseys General Store #1249, 310 W. Commercial, Mansfield, MO; and Signal Food Store, 711 N. Hwy Bus. 60, Mansfield, MO.
Supervisor Lacy pointed out that these establishments and their employees are the first line of defense in the battle against underage drinking. He praised them for their continued efforts to make Missouri a safer and healthier place for our youth.
The investigations were supported by funding made available through a grant administered by the Highway Safety Division, Missouri Department of Transportation.

In each case in which a charge was filed it should be noted that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
