Sections of the Missouri Code of State Regulations deal with these Department of Public Safety divisions and are all under review: Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, Division of Fire Safety, Missouri Gaming Commission, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri National Guard, Missouri Veterans Commission, the department’s Office of the Director, and the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Program, which is part of the Office of the Director.
The Department will also hold a second public hearing to allow interested Missourians to comment in person. That hearing, on July 20, will also be from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Lewis and Clark State Office Building’s LaCharrette/Nightingale Creek Conference Room.
Also, today, Gov. Eric Greitens announced the launch of a website, www.NoMORedTape.com, for Missourians to submit recommendations for action to cut government red tape.
To make it easier for the public to review and comment on DPS division regulations, DPS has created a webpage that includes all of the divisions with regulations to be reviewed, links to the current rules in the Code of State Regulations and an online comment tab that simplifies the review process for interested citizens. The rules review webpage is at: http://dps.mo.gov/rulereview/. It can also be accessed from the Department of Public Safety homepage: http://dps.mo.gov/. Just click on the “Administrative Rule Review” tab.
